Puter Review: Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 16IAU7
The Good:
- Very powerful
- Good Linux support
- Audio and wifi work (wifi is supported by openbsd i think so yippee for future me!)
- NVME drive go brrrr
The Meh:
- BIOS can be accessed by using a paperclip on the side. not sure to consider this good (dont have to spam function keys) or bad (people dont always have a paperclip i suppose)
- power button on right side next to usb ports, i worry that I will accidentally turn the computer on or off by accident
- 2-in-1 touchscreen swivel stuff was neat at first but i honestly never use it, especially cause i worry about the hinge. its just too large to use as a touchscreen tablet, even when folded
The Bad:
- Only two USB ports, effectively one because i use a vertical mouse.
- hidpi screen causes more problems than it solves for me. if i have to use fractional scaling to get the screen to not be tiny, what's the point of all those pixels then? and many programs behave strangely when opened on the hidpi and then moved to the external display (a regliar monitor)
The Mystery:
- havent tried fingerprint reader, no clue if it works or not
